International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme
Indiantown Middle School is in the process of applying to the International Baccalaureate Organization to become a candidate Middle Years Programme school.
What is the Middle Years Programme? The Middle Years Programme (MYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) is a course of study designed to meet the educational requirements of students in the 11-16 age range. This is a holistic program concerned with developing intercultural awareness and strong communication skills within a framework of interrelated disciplines.
The IBO has set the aims and objectives for eight different Curriculum Areas. These areas:
Language A: Usually the school’s language of instruction
Language B: A modern foreign language learned at school
Technology: The nature, processes and impact of Technology
Humanities: History, Geography
Physical Education: a healthy, active lifestyle, optimal fitness, social skills and reflection
Sciences: General Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Arts: Music, Art/Design, Drama
Mathematics
